Windows 7 boot screen isnt showing, its still showing the vista green bars. Ive heard if youre resolution is too low it doesnt show my current res is 1280.720 but even. Got black screen of death when booting up Windows 7? This article shows you a powerful Windows 7 black screen repair tool. It helps you fix Win7 black screen on startup and make the PC boot normally.

So here's my story. I have a Toshiba Satellite L505-ES5018 laptop running a 64 bit Windows 7. My laptop restarted with the usual Windows updates as it went through the 4 steps and percentages to update and I logged back in. Also as it seems to happen often, the flag at the bottom right of my desktop alerted me that I still had some updates that I needed to install. I went through the control panel, System and Security, and started to download the extra updates through Windows Update. The updates installed, the laptop restarted, and my log in screen came up and everything seemed normal. I wanted to take a nap so I put my laptop on hibernate from the log in screen. When I woke up however and pressed the power button to wake it back up, the Toshiba boot up screen showed up but after that there was only a black screen with the blinking cursor in the top left corner which has prevented me from getting to the log in screen and completely boot up my computer.

I have put my hard drive in another Toshiba laptop of my family's and it does the same thing so I know this is an issue with my hard drive. I'm not sure what the updates did, but it seems to have done something to the files that prevent me from booting up. I do not have my Windows CDs that came with the computer since my mother moved and I don't know what she did with my things since I am currently in college. I have tried Ctrl + Alt + Delete but all that does is restart the boot up screen and the black screen of death. I have continually pressed F8 to bring up Safe Mode options, but nothing happens.

Here is some of the data I can get by pressing F2 before the black screen disables me from doing anything further with my computer:

Please help! Again, I can't access a single thing when I turn on my laptop except for the BIOS setups and boot screen before the black screen with the blinking cursor shows up. I do NOT want to delete anything from my hard drive if I can help it. Just tell me if you need more information.
